On March 25, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg received Her Excellency Mrs. Katie Smith, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of Australia to Mongolia, upon completion of her duties. 

During the meeting, Minister Battsetseg appreciated efforts of both sides in maintaining active political dialogue, increasing trade and economic cooperation, as well as expanding the scope of bilateral relations with Australia, which is an important partner of Mongolia in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Minister also highlighted the ongoing work towards upgrading the bilateral relationship up to the level of "Comprehensive Partnership." Minister Battsetseg expressed gratitude to Ambassador Katie Smith for her active and dedicated work and contribution to the strengthening of the bilateral relations between the two countries and per well-established tradition of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented the "Golden Gerege" with wishes of success, health, and well-being in her future endeavors. 

Ambassador Katie Smith highlighted that the relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Australia have intensified in recent years, especially in the areas of education, mining, tourism. She also expressed her sincere appreciation to the leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for extending full support during her tenure as Ambassador.
