Mongolia's AI readiness score has been gradually increasing each year; however, the absence of a clear vision, represented by a score of 0, is causing delays in the overall index.
The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications, with support from the United Nations Development Program, is conducting a comprehensive assessment of Mongolia's readiness for artificial intelligence (AI) using the official methodology developed by Oxford Insight. Concurrently, efforts are underway to establish Mongolia's AI vision through the "Framework and Foresight" methodology created by the University of Houston. This approach is significant as it enhances the ability to anticipate future developments by fostering collective participation, developing scenarios, and analyzing potential outcomes.

The methodology involves openly gathering opinions and criticisms regarding the current state of artificial intelligence applications from scientists, researchers, and representatives from the private sector. As a result of these efforts, Mongolia will officially announce its "National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence" to the world in February.
AI will become a more powerful influence in the global economy in the future years. Being prepared to deploy AI in public service delivery will assist governments in maximizing the benefits of AI while minimizing possible drawbacks caused by the technology.
Governments that are ready for AI will gain a competitive advantage in many sectors, including trade, production, and security, while simultaneously protecting their citizens' rights and freedoms.
