The Law on Elderly People has been revised and entered into force on January 1 of this year. In connection with the revision of the law, the implementation of the “Comprehensive Support for Elderly People” activity aimed at improving the social protection, health, and quality of life of the elderly was launched today. More than 13,400 elderly people live and work in the aimag. It is very important to protect the health of our elderly, support their psychological and social activity, and provide quality care services. In this context, starting from 2024, it was decided to increase the salaries and bonuses of the heads of soum elder committees in line with the minimum wage, and the operating expenses of the soum elder committees have been doubled and provided with a comprehensive computer. In addition, 140.0 million tugriks have been allocated from the local budget to ensure the normal operation of the Senior Citizens' Organization in 2025. I wish success in my work to the Aimag Senior Citizens' Committee, which will continue to organize comprehensive care services for the elderly at the Aimag level, and to the health, education, and social security sectors that will work with me.
