Umnugovi aimag signed a memorandum of understanding with Flinders University in Australia in 2024 to prepare local citizens to become internationally competitive and highly educated professionals. As part of the cooperation, the "Umnugovi Scholarship" scholarship program has been officially implemented to support local youth in obtaining a world-class education. The scholarship is a unique opportunity to provide citizens of Umnugovi aimag with the opportunity to study at Flinders University and provide up to 75% of the tuition fee as a scholarship. The first selection was held in 2024, and 4 citizens were eligible to study at the Australian university, while a total of 8 citizens have registered for the 2025 scholarship program and have entered the first round of interviews. A working group has been established by the Governor of Umnugovi Province to select citizens for scholarships in a fair, transparent, and competitive manner. The selection process is open to all local citizens based on the requirements set by Umnugovi Province and the criteria set by Flinders University.
