FOREIGN MINISTER B. BATTSETSEG MET WITH THE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF THE OMAN INVESTMENT AUTHORITY

Foreign Minister B. Battsetseg visited the Oman Investment Authority today and met with the management team of the agency.

 

At the meeting, Foreign Minister presented priorities of the “Vision-2050” long-term development policy of Mongolia, the Government’s Action Plan of Mongolia, and 14 mega projects, and exchanged views on areas of cooperation with the Oman Investment Authority. In this context, she proposed to create favorable conditions for the export of meat, meat products, wool, and cashmere products from Mongolia to Oman.

 

 

The authority having introduced to its worldwide activities and priority goals, expressed its willingness to develop cooperation with Mongolia in the mining, renewable energy, and agriculture.

 

In addition, two sides agreed to look for the possibility to establish a Joint investment fund between Mongolia and Oman, based on the experience of the Oman Investment Authority in establishing joint investment funds with countries such as Uzbekistan and Vietnam, with a view to finance major projects to be implemented in Mongolia. In this regard, it has been agreed that representatives of the authority will travel to Mongolia in the near future.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg invited Oman Investment Authority to participate in the Mongolian Economic Forum to be held this year in Ulaanbaatar.

 

Within her official visit, Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg will call on His Highness Sayyed Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan and will hold official talks with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi on 19 February 2025.
