
H.E. Ms. B. Battsetseg, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines.

During the meeting, Minister B.Battsetseg conveyed the warm greetings of the President of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. U.Khurelsukh, and ceremonially handed over a letter addressed to President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.
Both sides emphasized the significant potential to deepen economic cooperation by expanding collaboration in the agricultural sector and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. In particular, they held productive discussions on increasing exports of Mongolian agricultural products—such as those made from wool and leather—and attracting investment in the industrial sector.

President Marcos Jr. highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries, which have steadily developed over the past 50 years. He expressed his commitment to further strengthening cooperation across all areas in the next half-century.
The two sides also agreed to intensify practical cooperation by enhancing the existing legal framework for labor and social protection, facilitating the supply of skilled labor in accordance with market demands, and implementing an English teacher exchange program.
Minister B.Battsetseg underscored that launching direct flights between Mongolia and the Philippines would be an important step toward enhancing people-to-people exchanges, trade, tourism, and cultural cooperation.
Furthermore, both parties agreed to work together to support Mongolian start-ups and young entrepreneurs interested in expanding into the Philippine market—particularly in the areas of fintech, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation—and to encourage enterprise-level collaboration.

Minister B.Battsetseg also expressed her confidence in the continued support of the Government of the Philippines in protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian citizens who are working, living, and studying in the country.
The two sides held productive discussions on implementing joint projects aligned with Mongolia’s “One Billion Trees” initiative and the Philippines’ “5 Million Trees by 2028” program, aiming to contribute jointly to mitigating the negative impacts of climate change and promoting ecosystem stability.

This official visit carries great significance for enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of Mongolia’s foreign policy toward Southeast Asian countries.
