
The “Inscription of Khüis Tolgoi”, “A Complete Record of the Body by Imperial Order” have been inscribed in the UNESCO Memory of the World International Register, following the decision made during the 221st Session of the UNESCO Executive Board, held in Paris, France, from 02 to 17 April 2025.
The "Inscription of Khüis Tolgoi" is an ancient Mongolian text written in Brahmi script, dating back approximately 1,400 years. It offers valuable insights into the spiritual beliefs of nomadic peoples of the Mongolian steppes and serves as an important source for the study of the grammatical structure and vocabulary of the ancient Mongolian language.

“A Complete Record of the Body by Imperial Order” is a mid-18th century manuscript that integrates knowledge from both Western and Traditional Eastern medicine. These texts were used as instructional material in ancient Mongolian medical schools and recognized as among the earliest known examples of medical literature in Mongolia.

The UNESCO Memory of the World Programme aims to identify and safeguard documentary heritages of historical importance at international and regional levels. It supports efforts to preserve the heritages,enhancepublic awareness, and fosters cooperation among Member States.
Mongolia has presviously registered“Lu.Altan Tobchi and the Mongolian Tanjur in 2011, the Kanjur written with 9 precious stones in 2013, the Stone Stele Monument for Mongolian Tanjur in 2017, and the Stone Inscriptions of Tsogtu Khung-Taiji, Prince of Khalkha in 2023in the UNESCO Memory of the World International Register.
