Secretary-General Appoints Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa of Mongolia United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa of Mongolia as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan effective 22 June. 

 

Ms. Radnaaragchaa brings over 25 years of extensive experience in sustainable development across Europe and Central Asia. Before her appointment as Resident Coordinator, she served as Regional Adviser on Environment at the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). 

 

In this role, she strengthened UNECE’s engagement across multiple UN Country Teams and provided targeted policy advice and technical support to 17 programme countries, advancing the implementation of UNECE conventions, norms, and standards. 

 

Throughout her career, Ms. Radnaaragchaa has held a range of positions in the field of sustainable development and natural resources management. She served as a senior officer at the Ministry of Nature and Environment of Mongolia and undertook various roles with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
