Today, the Governor of the aimag L. Tumkurchodur and the leaders of Batsumber soum, representatives of KHAN Bank, and relevant officials signed an agreement to plant 1 million trees on an area of 400 hectares in Batsumber soum this year. As the largest national bank and financial institution, KHAN Bank has been consistently implementing the “KHAN Bank Forest” program in every corner of Mongolia since 2007 as part of its social responsibility. In this context, it has planted about half a million trees over the past 17 years, the latest example of which is the afforestation of 40 hectares of land in urgent need of restoration near the mouth of the Selbe River and the mouth of the Ikh Bayan River in Ulaanbaatar since 2021. The “KHAAN Bank Forest” program is expanding and supporting the national movement “Terbum Mod” by signing an agreement to plant and grow 5 million trees by 2030 and to restore degraded forests by 2025. In this work, the company will cooperate with professional organizations in the field of tree breeding and reforestation, such as “UBT Garden” LLC, “Titem Oi” LLC, “Khalkh Golin Khishig” LLC, “Oin Ch’em” LLC, “Oi Bayasakh” LLC, “Agroforest” LLC, and “Bugant Nandin” LLC. These enterprises will not only plant trees, but also be responsible for the care and maintenance of the planted trees for 3 years. In support of the national movement “Terbum Mod” initiated by the President of Mongolia, Tuv aimag is planning to plant and grow 20 million trees.
