
The 23rd meeting of Mongolia-EU Joint Committee was held on 4 April 2025 in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav, State secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Paola Pampaloni, Deputy Managing Director of Asia and the Pacific Department of EEAS.

During the meeting, co-chairs briefed on the recent developments in Mongolia and the EU and held broad discussions on further strengthening the relations and cooperation within the priority areas outlined in the respective long-term development agendas. In particular, two sides exchanged views on intensifying the cooperation in renewable energy and green transition fields, as well as increasing the trade flows by fully utilizing the existing GSP+ mechanism.

Moreover, co-chairs agreed to contribute to the mitigation of climate change impact, and to fully implement road map of Memorandum of Understanding on Forest Partnership.

The outcomes of Human rights dialogue and Development working group meetings were discussed during the Joint Committee meeting. Upon the outcome of the Joint Committee meeting, a joint press release was published.
