
During the official visit to the Kingdom of Spain, Minister for Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg held official talks José Manuel Albares Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain.

During the official talks, the sides exchanged in depth views on enriching Mongolian-Spanish relations, based on common values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, with economic content and the effective implementation of development policies.

For instance, the sides emphasized the importance of diplomatic missions in the rapid expansion of bilateral relations, noting that Mongolia will soon open it’s Embassy to the Kingdom of Spain in Madrid.
The Spanish side welcomed this visit at the level of the Minister of Foreign Affairs—the first in 11 years. Both sides emphasized and agreed on the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in reinforcing bilateral relations. They agreed to organize a visit by the Spanish Head of State and Foreign Minister and a political consultations in the near future.

Ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying dialogue through the negotiation and conclusion of several key cooperation agreements aimed at creating a favourable legal environment for cooperation, such as the "Air Transport Agreement", "Mutual Recognition of Driving Licenses", and "Agreement on Exemption from Visa Requirements for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders".

Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg briefed on Mongolia’s foreign policy priorities and discussed ongoing and upcoming international initiatives, agreed to cooperate in organising such events as the "World Women Entrepreneurs Forum" to be held in Ulaanbaatar in August and the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, also to be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2026.

Foreign Ministers signed the Memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the Diplomatic School of the Kingdom of Spain, to train and educate specialists in international relations, Spanish studies and language studies.

The parties also reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation within the United Nations and other international organizations and exchanged views on some issues of international fora.
