Today (August 16, 2024), the Minister of Electronic Development, Innovation and Communications Ts. Baatarkhuu and representatives of related departments got acquainted with the activities of the National Information and Technology Park and the startup companies that are growing there.

The National Park of Information and Technology operates with the aim of supporting unicorn companies from Mongolia to the world, preparing and training industry personnel, and supporting information technology manufacturers. In addition to organizing the "Start of My Code" hackathon every year to educate high school students in IT, many events and activities such as Start-up challenge Mongolia, ICT EXPO, and Grow with Google to select the best startup company in Mongolia are organized. We are supporting startup companies to enter the Silicon Valley.

In addition, the park informed the minister that it plans to organize the 27th Congress of Asian Science Parks in Mongolia this year.

Minister of Electronic Development, Innovation and Communications Ts. Baatarkhuu: "Our main goal is for companies to grow and become global. The Mongolian government has announced a tender for about one trillion MNT and has written the code. It's time to export this code. Many countries around the world are interested in E-Barimt and E-Mongolia systems and are submitting requests for experience. Therefore, it is possible to export good code written by the public and private sectors and raise investment funds.

Today, the IT sector accounts for 3.2 percent of GDP. The Ministry of Electronic Development, Innovation and Communications expressed that it will focus on increasing the investment fund, making it multi-sourced and risk-free in the next 4 years to make this sector the main economic sector.
